There is a Japanese proverb that states, "When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends." Well, when I write my characters, much of the humour and the irony of some situations are inspired by some inside jokes I share with my closest friends. As we have grown together, our sense of individuality has flourished, and it is with the combination of looking at the past and present that I have produced these characters.
A hollow, bellowing laugh erupted from the forest, pitching low from the creature’s gut to a high, airy cackle.
My eyes shot open.
Adjusting my sight to the darkness, I slipped my clothing off before phasing, and silently padded my way downstairs to sleep on the couch. If anything tried to break in, they’d have to go through me first. -Kyla

Tess: "You have peanuts in your wedding tux?”
